Ian qualified with a general practice in London and afterwards joined the audit department of one of the “big four” International firms. During this period he was involved in large audits and various special assignments. Ian moved to the Thames Valley in 1982 and became a partner in general practice in 1983 and continues as a partner to date.

Ian looks after a range of clients with the emphasis on owner managed corporate businesses and commercial businesses. He has broad experience over a wide range of sectors particularly property, public relations and marketing communications and the IT sector. Ian acts not only as audit partner but also specialises in providing business advisory services focusing on strategic planning and extensive aspects of corporate finance, including acquisitions, disposals, MBOs and re-organisations. He has also acted as expert to resolve disputes and has a large network of business, banking and professional contacts. 

Ian is an experienced facilitator with a focus on building vision, business planning, strategic direction and business improvement for growing businesses and developing high performance teams. He also takes an interest in the local community through charitable and other organisations and has a keen interest in DFk International, the international association of accountancy firms of Chantrey Vellacott DFK is a member. 

In his spare time Ian enjoys golf, skiing, walking, watching rugby and most sports generally.
