Dr Stephen Hill BSc(Hons), TAP, PhD
Technical & Training Manager
After graduating from a doctorate degree and lecturing post at Essex University in Change Management and Training, I moved to Chantrey Vellacott DFK as a Training Consultant in 1999.
Since my commencement, I have developed many essential skills and have progressed from Training Consultant to Training Manager. I specialise in developing IT courses to meet the needs of our clients, both internal and external, and more recently I have been focusing on computer related fraud and prevention and IT risk management.
I chose a career in training because not only would it utilise my doctoral research but it would also enable me the chance to work in a constantly changing and challenging environment with a diverse range of people. I felt training gave me the widest spectrum of opportunities within the professional environment and it has given me the perfect foundation to train in areas such as application skills, fraud and risk management.
I have been very fortunate to work with some highly talented people from whom I have learnt a great deal. I have developed this experience and have now achieved the highest accolades in IT Training through Gold Standard Accreditation via the Institute of IT Trainers and am now certified as an accredited IT Trainer (TAP) via the Training Foundation.
My work in the fraud arena had provided me with the opportunities to train the Police, DTI and Serious Fraud Office with a seat on both the Fraud Advisory Panel (Cybercrime) and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Working at CVDFK is a challenge but if you have the ambition, drive and really want to succeed then you can. In fact with a bit of luck you can achieve almost anything…I met a CVDFK accountant and she is now my wife!
Overall I think the keyword is diversity: pulling together the widespread strengths of the team - that’s what makes life at CVDFK so fascinating.
