What are we looking for? We are interested in who you are, as well as your formal qualifications.

We’re successful and plan to continue to be so. This means having the right people with the right qualities and skills, and investing in their future. In our people we value ambition, responsibility, commitment, teamwork and of course your individual ability. If you are a proven team player and you can:

  • think creatively and laterally
  • respond positively to challenges
  • bring objectivity and analytical skills to your work
  • identify innovative solutions to business issues

we want you to apply to come and work with us.

What support do we give you?

The firm offers three types of training:

  • exam tuition
  • professional development
  • on-the-job training

Exam tuition

We offer you full financial and study support for your exam training, which is provided by The Financial Training Company, together with regular counselling and encouragement so that our trainees consistently achieve impressive results.

You sit the ICAEW exams during a three-year training contract.  These exams are:

  • Professional Stage: six papers, and you take two papers at each of three sittings
  • Advanced Stage: three papers taken at one sitting.

Professional development

We offer you a comprehensive in-house training and development programme to enhance your technical, personal and managerial skills.  This starts as soon as you join with a one-week induction course, and continues throughout the period of your training contract and for the rest of your career in the firm.

Each year we carry out a detailed training needs analysis to ensure that the training you get is matched to the requirements of your client work and your career aspirations.

On-the-job training

One of the great advantages of working for a firm the size of ours is that you will be working on a wide range of clients; you are not required to specialise. Our clients range from large well known public companies to small owner-managed businesses.

We provide you with responsibility early on in your career. By working with those in a position of influence at our clients you gain valuable work experience and an in-depth understanding of how a business operates.

There will be opportunities for secondments to specialist departments during the course of your training contract.  Once qualified, you can have the opportunity of transferring into one of our specialist areas.

One thing we can promise is a rewarding career for those who really want it – and excellent future prospects.

Minimum requirements

In order to apply for a training contract you must meet our minimum criteria. Our minimum criteria are the following:

1) 24 UCAS points (old system) or 300 points under the new system in three A level subjects and;
2) you must have attained or be expecting a 2.1 degree

How to apply

If you meet our minimum requirements and have liked what you have read, please complete our online graduate application form. You may also send in a CV and covering letter. However, if you are invited for interview you will be expected to complete our graduate application form.

Be assured that each application is personally reviewed by a member of the Training Team.

The application process

The application process is in two stages. The first stage comprises of an interview with a Training Manager and written tests. This first stage takes approximately 2.5 hours.

If you are successful after the first stage of the process, you will be invited to attend a second interview with a staff partner from the office or department you have expressed an interest in. This is the final stage of the recruitment procedure.
