Care homes provide an essential element of the overall package of care for people in the UK, particularly the elderly.

The UK population is ageing.  There are some 17 million people born in the "baby boom" years of 1945 to 1965 who are approaching retirement and it is estimated that by 2025 more than one third of the UK population will be aged over 55.

With an ageing population, the opportunitiy for care home providers will continue to expand, although service users may be expected to be more demanding in terms of enhanced choice and service levels.

At the same time, changes in public sector care provision mean that more privately owned care homes are delivering services funded by the NHS and local authorities.

Chantrey Vellacott DFK has specialist advisors who understand the developments occuring in the sector and who provide a range of services designed to help care home operators maximise the value of their business.
